Course: Academic Writing, BA Seminar
- the course prepares for writing research papers in English language (shorter and longer written forms), as well as conducting scientific research, typical to the fields of historical and ethnological sciences.
Thesis. Criteria for the Bachelor’s thesis are based on those that are in force in the History Faculty. Bachelor’s thesis is written with the help of the supervisor (with at least a PhD degree) during a two year long Bachelor’s seminar. It is the supervisor’s obligation to make sure that the thesis approved for defence meets all the substantive and procedural requirements. They prepare the review of the thesis and grade it. The second review with grade is given by a reviewer appointed by the head of study programme. Until an anti-plagiarism system for the whole University is created, the supervisor and reviewer are responsible for detecting unauthorized borrowings. Approval for Bachelor’s examination is possible only with two positive reviews. If one of the reviews is negative, another reviewer is appointed. The grade from the thesis, together with the Grade Point Average and the result of the oral degree examination is included in the protocol from the degree examination and is one of the components used to calculate the final result of Bachelor’s studies. The head of study programme or a person appointed by them takes part in the degree exam together with the supervisor and the reviewer.
English is of course language of a thesis.
